INFANT SWIMMING RESOURCE SELF-RESCUE™ SWIM LESSONS
An added measure of safety and a foundation
for lifelong enjoyment of the water…

Thank you for your interest in the Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) program.

ABOUT THE LESSON: Every child will have private, one-on-one instruction, five days a week, Monday through Friday. The lessons are no longer than 10 minutes in duration each day. He or she will have the same appointment time five days a week, all time slots are handled on a “first enrolled” basis. Keeping this schedule the same on a daily basis is vital to the retention of skills. From the day you start lessons, your child will accomplish skills that have been individualized to meet his/her needs. There is much learned in a short, but intense private lesson, which focuses on the survival skills for each child. Please plan to be at the pool for 20 minutes, to allow you child time to rest and get dressed.

REFRESHER LESSONSPlease take the approach that your child in enrolled in a process.  Retention of skills is a common concern for all parents once lessons have been discontinued. Even though our retention rate averages between 95% and 100% after a period of one year, your child’s body changes at a tremendous rate. While your child will remember his/her skills, they will need to make adjustments for their new body size. The posture that floats a 12-month-old baby will probably not float a 24-month-old toddler as effectively. The number of refresher lessons that your child may need is usually 2 to 3 weeks, however, this can vary from child to child.  Refresher students are required to fill out an on-line National Registration Update Form and pay an update refresher fee (see below).

LESSON FEES: Lesson fees are $65.00 per week, per child, payable to Michele de Vahle. The first week enrollment fee is payable by check or cash. Thereafter, lesson fees are payable by CASH only. Once I receive the enrollment form in the mail, I will then email you a link to the National Registration Form (see information regarding the National Registration below). Once that form has been completed on-line, I get an email message stating you have registered your child from the ISR home office. I will then email or call you with a start date and time.

NATIONAL REGISTRATION FEESThe ISR National Registration fee is $105. Annual refresher lessons will pay a reduced fee of $35. The National Registration fee is SEPARATE from lesson fees, it is mandatory for each new student and gets paid on-line directly to the ISR home office.  These fees ensure the safest and most effective experience for your child and thereby cover the cost of a screening process by medical personnel for physical and developmental readiness of your child, supplies, and educational programs for the general public and medical community.  ISR now offers a scholarship program to families in need.  Ask any ISR Instructor for an application. After the registration process is complete, you will receive a Welcome Kit in the mail.

LENGTH OF SESSION:  All lessons are custom tailored to meet the needs of each child, so the number of lessons and amount of time it will take for your child to become proficient in self-rescue skills will vary from child to child. Averages for the different age groups are as follows; Infants 6 mos. to 12 mos. (basic skills) will need approximately 4 weeks. Children 12 mos. to 6 yrs. (advanced skills) will need between 4 to 6 weeksRemember these are averages. Your child could need more or less time before he or she is proficient in his or her self-rescue skills.

APPOINTMENTS & SCHEDULES:  See the CALENDAR for availability. Individual appointment times are scheduled on ten-minute increments.  Consistency is the key for the most effective and efficient survival swimming lessons.
